Training

Peer Productions, Apprentice Actor in the Community

2013 - 2014

Working for Peer Productions mainly involved performing in shows which tour to schools, supporting acting-based workshops with young people and assisting outreach sessions with disadvantaged groups. In my year at Peer I was involved in three tour shows, playing the role of teenage mum, Marti in The Teenage Pregnancy Projecy, running tech and operating live camera streams in The Body Image Project and playing the role of Lefty in The Addictions Project. In all of these productions we used theatre and music to educate students about the different social issues that each play concerns.

Urdang Academy, 1 Week Pre-Audition Course

October 2012

Throughout the week at Urdang, I received lessons in acting, singing, ballet and jazz. In acting classes I worked on preparing a monologue, in singing classes I worked on preparing a song, and in the ballet and jazz classes I was taught basic dance technique that would help me in a drama school audition. The week cumulated in a mock audition where I performed my monologue and song, and participated in dance rounds, in front of the head of Urdang. I received written feedback following the mock audition.

Thomas Telford School, A Level Performance Studies

2011 - 2013

Performance Studies allowed me to considerably extend my knowledge of Drama and certain practitioners. In every aspect of the course I was given the opportunity to create my own work. Modules such as Community Performance enabled me to take on a role of leadership, as well as work as a team to devise a piece of theatre, thus teaching me the importance of teamwork and being able to meet tight deadlines. Over the two years studying performance, I improved my skill-set in all three art forms- music, acting and dance.
