ABOUT ADÈLE

Adèle is a young performer who aspires to succeed in the world of the West End stage.

From singing along to Barney songs in the car at the grand old age of 2, belting out songs on her new karaoke machine on her 7th birthday, and dancing to Atomic Kitten's Tide Is High in front of a room full of strangers (as all good Brownie members should), it is clear that a creative career in performing has always been close to Adèle's heart.

Currently, Adèle's initial goal is to be accepted to drama school to study an Acting degree, in order to obtain the training that she feels will further her in the performing arts industry. She is passionate about Musical Theatre but feels this is something that she may pursue following Actor training.

Over the past year, Adèle has been working as an apprentice actor for touring theatre company, Peer Productions. As well as providing Adèle with some actor training, Peer Productions gave Adèle many other opportunities, including access to film-making facilities and performing TIE on a daily basis. Adèle toured 3 TIE plays with Peer Productions. These are: The Teenage Pregnancy Project, The Body Image Project and The Addictions Project.

In The Teenage Pregnancy Project, Adèle played the role of teenage mum and care leaver, Marti. This role enabled Adèle to take on a wide skill-set, and whilst on tour she interacted directly with audience members, sang, played piano, demonstrated how to use a condom and managed costume for the whole company! In contrast to this, The Body Image Project gave Adèle the opportunity to take on new skills that she didn't even know she had. In this tour, Adèle played the role of media member, Kiera, which involved being camera operater for the entire show; streaming live TV-style shots to the cast's vision mix member. In The Addictions Project, Adèle played the role of Lefty. As this show is aimed at a younger audience, playing  Lefty gave Adèle the chance to explore a fun and upbeat character, played in a pantomimic style.

Adèle also recently completed her own project, which involved writing a song (Wasted Tears) and filming a music video to accompany it. This project was inspired by recent bad experiences that Adèle has overcome, and she felt the need to create something positive from the lessons that life continues to teach us.

Over the course of this next year Adèle is looking to expand on her recent music project and hopefully begin writing her own album to launch herself as a singer/songwriter, as well as an accomplished actress.

In addition to Adèle's more recent achievements, in the past she has also been an avid member of various theatre groups, including WBOS Youtheatre and MYK Productions. With these and other theatre groups, Adèle has been involved in a range of different musicals, plays and concerts, where she has played both lead and ensemble roles. Adèle has also attained a variety of performance certificates, achieving distinctions in Grade 4 Keyboard, Grade 5 LAMDA and Grade 8 Music Theatre examinations. Adèle has competed in a range of music festivals, where she has been awarded commended and distinction levels for all of her performances, and throughout Adèle's education she has been a keen member of various choirs. A particular highlight of this was performing at the Royal Albert Hall with Thomas Telford's Senior Choir.

Determined, professional and enthusiastic are three words that Adèle feels strongly define her as an individual. She tries her best to look at each day with a positive mental attitude and she is committed to everything that she does. Adèle enjoys taking on new challenges and meeting new people. She will throw herself wholeheartedly into whatever is asked of her and feels that working in a collaborative environment is of massive importance. She would describe herself as a key team player and she is organised and hardworking. She is friendly and approachable and tries her best to bring other people's spirits and energy up as well as her own. Adèle is dedicated to pushing herself to getting the best out of what she has, in order to one day get to where it is that she wants to be.
